About the Author
Al has over 30 years of experience in construction management working with and for public agencies. He began his career with a government agency administering a federal jobs program. With a degree in history and education, he never expected to spend most of his career in the construction industry. Al has worked for government agencies as a contract specialist, owner's representative and administrator of capital projects, and has worked in the private sector on large scale public agency projects including mass transit, highways, schools, housing and economic development projects. Al earned an MBA in construction management, became a certified construction manager through the Construction Management Institute of the Construction Management Association of America, and was also an authorized OSHA trainer. Al continues to work in the construction industry as a consultant to a general contractor specializing in the rebuilding of houses in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, and works for City University of NY as a trainer and career counselor.
